BROCK VS COUTURE! It's happening in November!
I have no idea why Couture agreed for this fight as he has nothing to really gain by beating Brock, and everything to lose by Brock beating him.
And in December we get Mir vs Nogueira! Hopefully this leads to a Nogueira vs Couture fight. Thu, Aug. 21st, 2008, 12:18 pm
Last night I picked up Too Human, but didn't really get a chance to play much of it since I had to haul some stuff around with Karen's dad. Also Maria came over to help Karen with the garage sale and Ben came with her so I ended up hanging out with him. I let him borrow some games and it gave me a chance to show of games I bought and what price I got them for. The Bigs? $5! The Darkness? $8! Etc. So yeah, the Geo War review didn't happen yet. There's lots of things I'd love to write about, but finding the time lately has been a pain in the ass.
I chose the Berserker class in Too Human because for this style of game I love having a dual weilding character. This class certainly felt different than the Champion class in the demo because I was killing enemies much faster.
Niko is doing his part on trying to make sure I get to work on time. Normally I hit the sleep button a few times as a way of getting a head start to being fully awake, but Niko doesn't have a snooze button. He knows that buzzer means it's time for me to wake up and feed him and doesn't let me get back to sleep. Bella has an almost supernatural ability to jump from a low space to a high space without needing a running start. No longer can I leave something out and just assume the cats can't jump that high.
And wow, another Onion joke article comes close to reality as Obama's half brother in Kenya lives on just $1 a month has talked trash about Obama. Next will be a shaving razor with an additional razor on the fucking handle. Mon, Jun. 23rd, 2008, 09:28 am
George Carlin died. His bitter sarcastic rants never failed to crack me up.
I guess he could ask Jesus to pass the porkchops in person now. Wed, Apr. 9th, 2008, 09:29 am

Weird. I was going to look at my journal and instead got a giant text IT WORKS! message. Fri, Oct. 27th, 2006, 03:03 am
Well the GHII thing didn't pan out, fucking employee got GHI and GHII mixed up. Gotta love wasting time.
Meanwhile yahoo videogames has a best scare list for Halloween and at least 3 of the worst horror games are on that list AND The Movies which isn't a goddamn horror game. Morons. Tue, Oct. 24th, 2006, 04:34 pm

Heh, appearantly Rockstar lost the lawsuit and has to provide Jack Thompson with an advance copy of Bully. Know what would kill the game's thunder? If he sent out a notice approving the game and praising it for being educational.
I'd laugh my ass off. Fri, Sep. 29th, 2006, 08:33 am
Would've posted this if I had time earlier but here's a link to the Top 30 Worst Horror Games list Mark and I worked on that's up now (though Insidepulse might not be). Mark deserves most of the credit for doing an amazing job on the feature, so if you're a gaming fan go check it out. Tue, Aug. 15th, 2006, 12:11 pm
My bike got stolen. It was shitty and I needed a new one, but I had an attachment to it.
Snakes on a Plane is just two days away. Gotta take the bad with the good, eh? Mon, Jul. 17th, 2006, 01:16 am
Bought myself an MP3 player! For $10! CompUSA had a 90% off sale going on and I picked up a Sony PSYC 512MB MP3 player. Sure, doesn't have the storage space or some of the functions of some of the $160+ MP3 players, but I have 17 CD's on it right now that I can switch between than the quality sounds fine so that's worth my $10.
Other than that, it's really fucking hot outside. Been watching Deadwood and ripping CD's and avoiding the heat, though I'm probably going to go swiiming here shorty. I love the pool.
Hope you all are keeping cool. Wed, Jul. 12th, 2006, 02:48 pm
Sort of an interesting article on video game reviews from Esquire of all places. Mostly just talking about how the current video game journalism is sort of a closed circle of gamers who review more of the mechanics of a game rather than the artistic merits, and that if industry is going to grow into something more evolved than being just games than they need someone to critisize those merits as well as appeal to mainstream readers. Personally I think some of it is some ego-shit and the author of the article didn't bother to check such facts like how Bad Day LA is a game that hasn't even been released, which is a pretty big fact to somehow miss. But he does bring up some good points, though I've only got two comments about what he's talking about: 1- There is practically no gaming journalism. Almost all reviews and articles are just extended advertisement anyhow and it'll continue that way as long gaming magazines accept free advanced copies of games and other exclusives. The industry as it is now does not want people talking about the artistic meaning behind the games, only how great it looks and how you should probably buy the game, like right now. 2- Until graphical advancements reach a plateau most companies developmental resources are not going to be tied up in plot or anysort of artistic endevor beyond what it takes to sell more copies of a game. More developers might make a move in this direction now that it costs so much to produce next-gen games. So yeah, I think he's right, but for the wrong reasons. Wed, May. 31st, 2006, 12:10 pm
Yo rantmaster_mark, I put this up on the new IP games board but I'm not sure how you want to go about it for the horror games list, or how often anyone checks that board. Would you be able to PM/email/comment your side of the list later this week to me? Now that this bastard is actually going to get born what are your thoughts about doing a co-intro or throwing in comments about each others choices or whatever. Wed, Apr. 26th, 2006, 10:29 am
Brokeback Mountain is perhaps the most boring movie I've seen in a long time. Bland story, no pacing, no real story arc to speak of.
That is all. Fri, Mar. 31st, 2006, 01:12 pm
Copy/pasted from gloomchen because I was thinking the same thing: I've had pretty much the exact same friends list, give or take five folks, for the last six months. Not that I'm bored with y'all, but I like meeting new people. Feel free to throw some people at my journal. I would clarify that literacy and a basic grasp of grammar and punctuation is necessary, but my friends list isn't exactly full of idiots who befriend idiots. Will this become interesting? Will I meet fascinating and engaging people from around the globe (or in my backyard)? WE DON'T KNOW! ADVENTURE! Thu, Mar. 30th, 2006, 11:20 pm
Good news: We're getting Karen a new car
Bad news: Karen and I were in a car accident that totaled her car.
We're okay. For once I wore my seat belt and all that hurts is my chest. Was merging onto highway 100 and guy in front of us braked out of nowhere, stomped the brakes but the road was wet from the rain and we hydroplaned right into the car in front of us starting a chain reaction for four cars.
Despite MN drivers this is my first accident. Was kind of shook up after, but mostly glad that Karen was okay right after it happened. Gotta lot of respect for her, right when it was appearant that the wheels were slipping I braced myself and closed my eyes, while she said 'Fuck'.
Luckily no real damage to us. Went home and watched a zombie movie and tried to put it behind us. Because if I was really hurt what would you all do without my daily ramble? Heh. |
